Lucky for most of us, we live in the United States, and for a company to void a warranty, they must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the material damage was caused by the installation. Of course the company does not need to correct a roof leak caused by someone stupid enough to install the roof mounts without any sealant, but as long as you install it correctly, there will not be leaks. And any material delamination caused by the manufacture would still be handled like any other warranty claim.
Fred.
I've read some posts on this forum where manufacturers void warranty's because they almost "feel like it" I'm not saying it's that easy to void a warranty but given an open door and any kind of opportunity, a manufacturer wouldn't hesitate to void a warranty of they could get away with it.
I know that some roof mfgs provide a 12 year warranty and the rv mfg would back away from that quickly and pawn you off to deal with that original roof mfg, hence my advisement to make sure it is ok with a mfg to do that to his/her RV roof.
Better safe than sorry is the way I do things.
