I've been following this interesting thread. I have a question: When wiring panels in parallel does that mean the wires from each and every panel run separately to the controller, but then hook on the same terminals of the controller?
At that point you have the combined amperage of all the panels in the combiner box and larger wires run down to the disconnect switch, fuse and the solar controller. These larger wires minimize the voltage drop to the controller. Also for parallel panels it's common to add fuses in the combiner box, but they are not on every setup.
