As do I (two 6v GC's only), yet I've found that 440w is quite doable, and as for recovery performs very well indeed, particularly in inclement weather...I started out with 200w, but quickly sought more of what the sun could deliver!
You'll love Solar and it is really quite SIMPLE, but understand (now 7pgs in...) were theres the will (and a bit of newly gained knowledge), there can be a myriad of particulars (likes & preferences) as individual as each solar system owner. Like anything else, folks desire to endlessly tweak componants to gain another 0.0005% efficiency and much of this can be FUN as well, so don't get too discouraged, many 'factory systems' (though often pricey) likely serve their intended purpose without much of a glitch...In this case an add-on or parallel system may have its place.
