IMO "we" should be more careful telling newbies how much solar they need so they don't spend more than they need to. That is what I am on about here. Being able to equalize would seem to double the wattage you would otherwise need just to go camping off grid.
Most people are not full-timers and all they want is some solar to help with getting through their time off grid till they get shore power again. They don't need to spend twice as much based on a "need" that does not apply to their situations.
