I do like my 230w panel and Eco-W 20amper MPPT. It is perfect for our situation. But:
I can't help it if, when it is getting 15.5a instead of PWM's 14.5a, that I get annoyed the MPPT isn't doing more than that. Now when it is hot out and the thing only gets 13.5 instead of 14.5 I get really annoyed at being ripped off by an amp.
The fact I am in Float by early afternoon and the batteries are getting to full SG most days has nothing to do with it. Logic has nothing to do with it.
At least with PWM you get your 14.5a (same as panel Isc) every time and seeing that makes me happy. When I am getting ripped off at only 13.5a by the dratted MPPT being too hot, and I see the 230w panel is at its Isc so nothing is wrong with the insolation, then I know I would be getting that 14.5 for sure if only I had 12v panels and PWM instead.
RJ would say to just stop measuring things and be happy. Phooey on that. Oops here come those men in the white suits with their butterfly net again, have to run----
