Solar voltage help...
I just connected my solar kit (160w cmp12 controller)and the voltage while connected to the rv batteries reads 16.55v. Is this normal or too high? Sorry but im new to this.

So what decision did the OP make on how to resolve this situation?
A new folding panel kit, or just a new Charge controller? "Unit" is kind of non descriptive, and I don't want to assume.

MEXICOWANDERER wrote:OCV as in the voltage from just the panels? 21.xxV roughly. How fast does the it rise: In full sun not real sure but around 30sec to a minute. It actually will try to rise over 16.55 but I disconnect it. Voltage is measured at battery posts. Does it with any battery I connect it too.
- What is the OCV with the controller disconnected from the batteries?
- Starting at 12.7 HOW FAST does the voltage at the batteries rise to 16.55?
- Disconnected how fast does the voltage slump to 12.7 once again?
- You are of course verifying the 16.55 volts at the battery posts, right?
- And the batteries are proven GOOD?
