Re the solenoid.. Solenoids come (for this post) in 2 versions.. They really come in one.
The one is a "Can" with two BIG lugs and two small ones. You measure the voltage on the big lugs to test.
The "other" is a box called a battery control center. IT has 3 terminals at the bottom,, May be labled MAIN AUX and GENERATOR (may also be a 4th one Engine)
Measure AUX and Generator leads
To bypass
The can: Using a SHORT starter cable, connect the two BIG lugs.. If the bolts are long enough just add additional nuts to do the job, if not, double up with the existing connectors.. LIFT negative terminal off battery and unplug first.
On the box.. Jumper AUX to Generator.
NOTE Jumper should be largest wire connected to terminals
