Solid state lithium batteries for vehicles and storage?

There are a dozen of these kinds of reports a week...so far they are using the same lithium batteries that have been around for 2-3 decades.

I figure shortly after the first commercially viable fusion reactor comes online, we will have a big jump in battery technology.
