Is there a source for spec numbers that the public can look up?Local Ford dealer and auto parts house seem to shoot from hip. Example: Spark plugs, I ask for what ever came OEM or recommended replacement. He hands me 8 plugs. I get blank stare.I ask for torque amount, and with or without anti-seize, guy says take your pick. Is there a web site that has current info so I don't have rely on guesses??

That depends. What year is your truck? There are many ford truck forums out there. I was a moderator one two of them until my health started failing.

OP here year is Ford 2003 F350 super duty. 5.4 manual transI've seen several forums that have helped on some info, but also notice they go round and round with what is spec. sometimes.

This page details typical removal for 5.4 spark plugs, some of the language is identical to the TSB. Let us know how it works out for you, I'm nearing the mileage limit on my original plugs so am staring this in the face, as well. Good luck.

Thanks for the input. I'm on http://www.ford-trucks.com but trying to figure out if I should pay or stay with free service. Can't get TSB's to work.

Ford addresses the plug removal either in a Service Bulletin or in the Service Manual. I can't remember which but I've read it. There is a whole process for this as you may know, including extraction tools and introduction of penetrant during the process to save the original hole threads.

I would be comfortable using a good anti-sieze compound on the new plugs but I don't believe it is going to result in a better installation or easier removal in the future. The factory torque values is what I would use for installation. They are usually on the light side of perfection.

That is exactly the reason for posting this thread. 2003 old type plugs that blow out if not done right. Alot about them but torque amount and anti-seize or not seems to differ with different people. Thanks for the replies.
