Stinky gray water

Howdy again. I have noticed lately that my gray water smells bad...i mean really bad. Like knock a buzzard off a gut wagon bad, while the sewage water just smelly regular bad. Is this normal and what could cause this if it isn't normal?

  • I have to ask....how does anyone know their gray water stinks???

Look, I drop my gray on the lawn on my own country property all the time and yeah it smells but its very a very mild stink.

Are you smelling this smell in the camper?

Well, whatever. You can pour a bunch or chemical down the drain and likely get things smelling the way you want. No harm doing so, but it sure seems pointless.
  • You really do need to be careful that you aren't letting food particles down the drain into the gray tank. They will rot, just like food in your garbage can. If the tank isn't flushed out, they will just sit in there and stink. Worse yet, if the tank overfills while you are in the shower, stinky water will become bath water. YUCK!
