My first thought was that the highest density of Hot Wires in our stick house would be around the breaker box. Well, it is the highest density of Hot wires, EXCEPT, while half of them are going positive in voltage the other half are going negative in the same proportion. I believe this split phase has the effect of canceling the net AC radiated field and will show a lesser voltage on the body plate.

This would not be the case in a 30A RV because all the Hot Wires are going in the same phase at any given time.
