A torque converter lockup solenoid won't cure itself, typically they get worse. I don't think that's your issue. A stall at motive start may feel like a transmission issue but I'd focus on the most obvious causes for a stall. Since the crank positioning sensor is a known problem with some years of that engine, I'd guess that is your stall cause. Sometimes, just a bit of dirt in the wrong place can skew the sensor reading and that may have been your cause. Keep the engine clean and remove any oil or grease on the lower parts of the engine would be my recommendation. Chalk it up to a disgruntled spirit/entity and drive on!
