I have a 16 channel CCTV DVR at home. I started with a 4 channel, eventually got an 8 channel. Consequently, I have two DVRs that still work fine.
Our motorhome has a backup camera, and two turn signal cameras. These use a 5 pin round connector, instead of the usual BNC type connector often found on home security camera systems.
I believe they have the same signal level. I would need to tie into the two video wires in the 5 pin cable, and make a BNC adapter to connect to the DVR. I would add a dash camera too, which would be the fourth channel.
I've not seen anyone else do this yet, but looks like an easy project. I started upping my security after I had a camper stolen: http://2manytoyz.com/stolen.html
This video could also be useful if there's ever an accident while driving.
