- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerPassenger side front. Don't need no steenking debribrillations! That home brew shock hurt like hell for two days. went through big chest and big toe - cramped for a week.
Be careful around line voltage! Those nitrile mechanic's gloves work great for 120vac. But keep them dry - this is very important.
Passenger-side front tire. Now scraping noise when backing up with steering wheel hard left. Ahh jeez, it has to wait until June. - NinerBikesExplorerThe Left front end of his car needs a major camber adjustment after his off road adventures driving up to San Ysidro, otherwise he's going to need another new left front tire, sooner rather than later.
Yes, I drove all the way down to San Ysidro and back in a loooong day in my electric e-Golf, with it's whopping 83 mile range per recharge, to hand deliver an older smart phone of mine that I hope will make his life both easier, and harder at the same time.
Gotta keep learning, the day you stop learning is the day you start dying.
Of course, Mex had to try to figure out where the battery was on the car, and look under the hood at all the new fangled inverters, converters, chargers, big fat 360V wiring. Most of the battery capacity is in where the drive shaft tunnel and rear suspension drive train would sit, in the AWD or quattro versions by VW/Audi.
Fortunately for me, he did not ask for it's defibrillation capabilities, nor was a sample or a demonstration offered. What goes on down in Old Mexico stays down in Old Mexico.
Since he wondered what the battery looked like, here's a peek at the battery pack /belly pan. 705# of lithium powered goodness, 24.2 kwh capacity, good for 84 miles, although I did drive from Crevier BMW in Santa Ana, CA to Fuller Kia in Chula Vista, CA ( DC level 2 360V recharging stations at 24kw) recharging on 17.3 Kw, trip was 98 miles on that leg of the journey. Slowly, at 55 mph most of the way. smkettner might be interested in those numbers. - NaioExplorer IIAck, that woulda scared my heart silly, too!

Maybe. But, if they decide a Pacemaker and a Defibrillator are the way to go, I see a whole new Mex career in battery charging, lol. Be careful if you get those units. My FIL had them and his gave him a wallop one day. I believe they are making them with tighter controls, today.
Tomorrow a cardiologist and heart surgeon will become responsible for the rest of my life.
I quit!
Good luck on the rest of the trip. Avoiding big rigs over the lines only makes us stronger! - NinerBikesExplorerYou better not die on that AT&T Samsung S4 upgrade I gave you today. Fair warning.

I quit! - pianotunaNomad IIIHi Mex,
Glad you are ok. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerI was run off the road by a stupid big rig driver who was motormothing on his CB as he rounded a curve. 50% of my lane was occupied by his radiator. Right atop the Hog Spine Ridge 25 miles south of the Rio El Rosario bridge. What save my --- was my slow speed 25 mph. It's about 800' to the bottom. And me with heart problems. Bad Day in Badwater. I'm SICK of high tension episodes. Agggh!
- NaioExplorer IIOh, that sounds like a hellish day! I hope you can rest and relax, now.
