Lots of good options presented here Niner. But one thing I am curious about - has anyone actually connected a Bucker and verified pseudo MPPT operation? Some things on paper pencil out just ducky but up jumps Mr Snag or Monkeywrench. Myself I would not mind seeing a performance report card.
But then a couple of panels and a BOOSTER is definitely viable. I wouldn't mind seeing a test of a booster connected to a Farad grade capacitor when is then routed through a reasonably priced PWM controller. This would make paralleling those inexpensive panels a real bargain. 2 Farad capacitors can be found online on eBay or Amazon.
Boost panel voltage to 17-18 volts. Then pass it through the controller. To eliminate conflicts use an in-series rectifier between the booster and the controller.
This should be a piece of cake parallel wise.
