How does the Liquid Tape spray compare to using heat shrink tubing?

A clamp meter will check voltage and current in a wire WITHOUT leads, simply put it around the wire.

Take a look at the meter end of the wire, Most multi-meters use banana jack/plug pairs and I think this includes Fluke (But I'd have to visit my local fluke store)

My complaint on most meter probes is this:

You really should meter the park outlet to insure it's properly wired

BUT THE PROBE TIPS ARE NOT LONG ENOUGH TO MAKE ELECTRICAL CONTACT with the outlet.. I do have one meter where I modified the tips, but .. Well, One can never find it when one needs it.

For many years I use probes with old 78 RPM gramaphone needles. They are hard stainless steel, sharpenable and repairable. Best probes ever.

Good for me ??? Well maybe I can explain it like this, you buy a Snap-On ratchet; couple it to a Snap-On extension, then fit a socket from a $4.99 Chinese socket set. Or serve a Big Mac on Mikasa Antique Dinnerware. Or serve Sevruga Caviar on Mel-mac.

With Fluke or the leads that come with most meters, I have to RUB the contact to death to make a good connection. OK, let's SHARPEN those probes. Oh Damn! Brass. Pierce wire insulation? "Shirley You Jest".

I have a fondness for stuff that works well and reduces errors. And lost time. And the amount of red face anger and embarrassment I feel when trying to use garbage and failing miserably.

I would sell my left elbow for a set of those Hewlett Packard probes. They were made to last. In the mid seventies I had an LED HP voltmeter. I was king of the hill!

Mex - I have used these type of DC CLIP-ON AMMETER PROBEs for many of miles as well. These were used with the HP-428B DC milliammeter...
