The new WFCO's any good ?

Asking for a friend.... I know in the past they basically suck. Mine in an old MH used to eat batteries... This one in his new TT is a WF-8735-P. It "says" it's a 3 stage charger, but these things have a history so I figured I'd ask. He (we) will likely replace the GP24 with a couple of U-2200's, or 4, so boiling is not allowed!

Anyone know about this one?

  • Yeah, I've seen the reviews here and never once seen any praise on them. But not knowing figured I would ask. About the time I started to pay attention to mine, I sold the motor home, so haven't been through these problems. Any idea the PD model number ? 35A is a little light me thinks. 60A is better to where I think he's going.

Haven't seen the space yet, but it probably doesn't HAVE to be a drop-in replacement
  • If you do a search of WFCO problems you will find LOTS of them. But there are a lot of them out there and anecdotes are not data, so there might be some good ones. With expensive batteries why would you take a chance unless you are wiling to monitor what the converter is doing. Progressive Dynamics makes a replacement head unit that I have yet to hear a complaint about.
