Try removing the fuse. Count to twenty. It's a re-boot and it does work sometimes. Good Luck :) :)

Check to see if the electronic control unit is up side down, or the connections are on the bottom instead of the top. The original units had the connections on the top and water would get in. The unit is on the back, inside. There is also a toggle switch there that changes the cycle.

Second, the toilet needs full voltage to operate correctly. Discharged batteries can cause it to stop half way thru the cycle.

I have the same model that is ten years old. Only problem I've ever had is the valve closing before the toilet paper goes all the way down and eventually jamming little pieces of the paper in the gap of the seal. Whenever that happens the bowl will slowly leak. I've made a tool (a fork with its tongs bent) that cleans the seal of old paper. It only happens when the grand kids are aboard. But otherwise everything's been great.

All great ideas. Thank you very much. I contacted Thetford and they said it's a bad controller. I looked at other posts and a controller gone bad seems to be common with this toilet. In fact, Thetford said that they added a sensor, I think in 2006, that detects if the toilet is flushed repeatedly and will shut off power to the toilet. This prevents the toilet from overflowing and damaging your rig with toilet water and possibly sewage. In my opinion, this is a band-aid to the real problem which is a controller that goes bad.

When I called Thetford, they initially quoted me a price for a new controller of $54. They then transferred me to another individual to finish the order and the price became $178. I'm not going to pay $178 for a new controller, especially since it's just a replacement part and prone to go bad again in the future. I'm going to replace the x#!!% toilet with another brand that is more reputable than a Thetford product. I also have the Norcold refrigerator, made by Thetford, that had a recall because in propane mode the refrigerator could overheat and burn your rig down. Thetford, in my opinion again, applied a band-aid to the problem and installed a sensor that turns the refrigerator off if it gets too hot.

You can be sure that my next rig will be Thetford-free.

I've had our Thetford Aria Deluxe for some 8 years or more and it has worked great, like the toilets in our stick house. I wouldn't consider replacing it unless I had no other option.

I did install a separate switch to turn off power to the toilet when not in use, just to prevent a possible malfunction. The switch glows red when the power is on.
