tire indention???

one of my hauler tires has an indention line running from tread to rim and in two places. is this a sign of tire failure?

  • Google "Sidewall Indentation" Lots of hits. No mention of issues except where there is a bulge - which would be an indentation.

    Also, NOT BELTS!! Sidewall Plies.

    Oh contra ..the set of Michelin's I had on my truck had the indentations on them .. guess high grade/dollar tires also have em.

  • as said normal, I think its where the belts overlap.

    I noticed the same thing on one of the tires on my Subaru. I took it down to Discount Tire and the technician told me the same as learjet indicates above. Then he walked me around the lot and pointed out four or five other tires exhibiting the same issue. Made my day. Thought I was going to have to drop 600 bucks for new tires.

  • No. My truck tires had that too. Didn't amount to anything in the long run. Weird though.
