When I replaced the cap on mine I happened to glance "inside" the "Pipe" Turns out there is a much smaller pipe inside the larger (I was going to say large but .. Well.. By Stink Pipe Standards it is not that large) so if there is no cap then the rain falls it runs down inside your walls...
But the cap (Which by the way DOES NOT SEAL the top of the pipe) Causes the rain to run off to the sides and drip down OUTSIDE your RV onto the ground where it helps the grass to grow. Instead of inside your walls where it will cause Mold and Mildew to grow.
