Interesting. :) but yes, I always do a full recharge on a new battery as soon as I get it home, which it says to do because of shelf life someplace I was reading way back when. After doing that with flooded you also grab your baseline SGs to be the target in future recharges.
Now I am going to have to learn all these sub-tile methods you guys use for AGM baseline- at- Full markers. :(
Then you know when to goose them like Mr Wizard does his when they get a bit sulfated.
Back to that lower amps by lower voltage trick--the spec for recharge is to hold the spec voltage say 14.5, while doing the 27 amps and then after while tapering in the absorption stage, so dropping the voltage would be wrong I think. ? Need to hold the charger voltage at spec and stay under the amps limit AFAIK.
