Trucks 12 volt power lead to trailer battery

How many amps can I expect to recover during a 8 hour drive. Say I use 30 amps per night boondocking and then hit the road again. I have a 150 amp alt. I have 2 twelve volt deep cycle batteries. The only load during day travel is Frig. C02 detector , clock not much.
Thanks Jeff

  • 30 amp/hours is generally recoverable on an 8 hour drive. However you will not fully 100 percent charge the battery because the top charge is very slow. Much easier to to get more amps as you get down 50 percent discharged. So it may seem like you are sliding lower each day as you oscillate down to 50 percent and recharge to 70 or 80 percent. Assuming after a few days of this you will arrive and plug in all should be just fine.

Incandescent lights are a big draw so keep usage to a minimum or consider LED replacements.
