TV recepytiom

My TV in the bed room near the amp works well ! The one in the living room 10 ft away no so good .The bed room may get 10 channels the other if your lucky 3 .Any help wood be appreciated !
  • Check the cable connections at the splitter. The one could be loose
  • I replaced my signal booster with a the new Winegard Sensar Pro, and along with the Wingman attachment to the Winegard crank-up antenna we get a whole bunch of channels. 37 in fact on last trip out, but we were close to town.

The SensarPro seems to do a better job of passing the signal along to the 2nd TV than the old fashioned one did. Also check the tuner in the TV, some older sets aren't able to bring in a lot of the digital broadcast signals. When you do a scan on the bedroom, note how many analog channels and how many digital channels it finds, then compare to see if the other TV is lacking in the digital side.
  • Every connection loses a little more signal strength. Try to have the least number of connections and make sure they are all clean and tight.

Is it really a good idea to have your street address for all to see?
  • Different televisions work better than others too when plugged into the exact same wire. Try running a wire directly from the jack nearest the power booster to the television farthest away. Then use the same wire and plug into the television closest (with the same wire). If they are different, it's because of the television and nothing happening with your camper or the wires. Test it!
  • It may also be the TV. If you have extra coax, barrel it onto one of your outlets and feed it to each TV, one at a time, and do a scan. That will tell you if it's coax or the TV.
  • Make sure the settings of the tv are correct. You can set it for antenna or cable input (in your case it would be antenna) and then have it search for channels. If you're still not getting all the channels then it may be the wiring between the amp and the tv, loose or dirty connection or broken wire.

And some TVs just aren't good at picking up weak signals from some channels. If both TVs are the same model you should get the same reception on both.
  • which antenna are you using, and older style batwing? I upgraded to a Jack Antenna... what a difference!
