Well that looks like one of the MOLEX products but that is a company name and they make over a thousand differnt connector.. many made to a company's specs
I would change the connector to somethign more common (there are many options) provided you can find the dome light that can use the same connector.
Example This Plate
THis is a double-double (4 pairs) Anderson power pole "outlet" (or inlet for that matter) wall plate can plug in up to 4 items but the company sells other options.
Power poles are unique as they are (Nasty word alert) Bi-sexual or asexual (either word can be used) in that the inlet and outlet are IDENTICAL you simply turn it over so an extension cord both ends can both plug in and be plugged into so you never find yourself holding the wrong end of an extension cord.
THey also handle some serious current. those are 40 amp connectors in the photo
I have a 12 outlet power strip in front of me.. All my radios have power poles on the end of their cords. A Fan. a Freezer and some other stuff.
I have the somewhat expensive ratching power pole crimp tool for attaching them to wires but any good crimp tool can be used.
Looking into the connectors.. Tab UP. RED RIGHT for 12 volt
YOu can also do multi-pin (other than 2) or use different configurations for different voltages (LIke 24 volt power scooter batteries) lots of fun.
