Thanks for the responses.
I was leery of spraying into the outlet, that's why I asked the question.
My preference is a good outlet. But I see lots of heavily worn outlets. If there is a newer looking 50A outlet next to a worn 30A, I use the 50A.
When it is a one night stop, the outlet looks worn, no other sites are available, it is 4:30 PM, the office says they can't change the outlet until the next day, what to do? That's the problem I am trying to make the best of.
I read another thread recently about using an 18" 30A extender cord, like this one, as a sacrificial plug. I would not use that normally, only in this kind of situation. If that gets burned, I only lost $10. That is what got me thinking of another way to deal with suspicious outlets.
I am leaning towards buying DeoxIT D100 with a brush applicator to put on the male plug, when needed.
