Using 1 pound propane cylinder in an emergency
Is there an adapter available where I can use a 1 pound cylinder on my truck camper in an emergency or while I'm out getting the 20# tank filled?

Coleman used to offer a twin one pound adapter called the Gemini that would give you 2x capacity. I carry one for such situations.
