Volkswagen solar panels

I don't know if they still come with these, but I have 3 small solar panels that used to come with new Volkswagen cars. They use suction cups to hang on the inside of the windshield and have a OBD2 outlet on the end of the wire that comes from the panel. I believe they have a blocking diode also (there is a small plastic box inline from the panel
I dont have any specs on these things and would appreciate any info I can get. I would like to use them for keeping small equipment batteries charged during the winter etc...

    VW clicky

I believe that one is an older version of mine. My panel is a "thin film" or "amorphous " panel. Doesn't look the same as mine. Wish it had some info on the listing though, but thanks for the reply
  • From another board:

got a 2002 VW solar powered battery charger at a yard sale. Supposedly, VW plugged these devices into the cigarette lighter when shipping cars from Germany. Anyone know if this thing would work on a 1998 Ford Ranger or any other car? I have a chain saw sharpener that works off the cigarette lighter but don’t want to run the truck while I sharpen the saw. The charger name plate shows:

    max power 3.2 watts
    voltage @ max = 18.8
    current @ max = 170mA

    1000 w/m2

    25 C cell temp
