My Walmart Battery seems to be having issues. I'm having to add water more frequently and it seems finicky about keeping a charge. I've been keeping the battery in my garage hooked to a maintainer when I'm not using it. I've been out twice in the last two months for about 3 days each time. The battery is about about 30 months old. The new model of the same battery at Walmart says 24 month guarantee. My finances are looking pretty good right now. Is it time to buy a new battery?

A 30 month battery with a 24 month guarantee, I would say time for a new one. They do seem to last about the stated warranty time, plus or minus a few months. I would go ahead and spend a little more and get a better battery with a longer warranty time to save having to do it again in a couple years.

Walmart and other marine batteries are not really intended to be cycled deeply (50%). If you keep above 80% state of charge they do offer good service life.Do you boondock much?

you might have a tender problem,your battery should not be boiling the water away, but its old enough to trade in, I have five deep cycle batteries from wal mart of different age some 6 years old and still working.

24 month warranty and you got 30 months out of it... there's your sign. If you are not happy with that, do a search here on batteries, and your usage, for a better idea on life of batteries vs how you use yours currently.

Is this battery the starting battery for your MH? My starting battery for the MH is from Walmart and is 9 years old. I charge it the same times that that I charge the house batteries. So It is maintained well. On my cars which I don't maintain just drive they last about 3 years. Walmart will load test them for free as will any auto parts store.
