Can you put in a TALLER battery.. Two with the same foot print but TALLER?
Reason for asking
Group 24,, 73 AH (C/20 rate) total 146 AH,, MARINE/deep cycle.. About 65 AH usable
GC-2 Come in a few sub types 210, 215, 220,230,240 and 250 amp hours (This is for the pair since these are six volt batteries you wire in series)
The "Bigger" the taller.. but they usually fit a group 24 Base
Mine were 220.. I upgraded to 230 when I got my new ones.
Flooded wet cell means you need to water them (DISTILLED ONLY) occaionsally.
DEEP CYCLE means you can use 1/2 of the amp hour rating safely (IE> 220 you can use 110 safely)
That is a whole lot better than what you got now.
Oh. regarding the fact that when you buy 'em they are six volt
once PROPERLY installed.. Think of them like this -{Bat}t{ery}+12 volts
That is the two proprly wired (As typed) become one single 12 volt battery (4D or 8D electrically) think of them as such and most of your questions self answer:
Can I _____ just one? Can you ____ 1/2 of a 12 volt battery? (same answer).
