We run an under counter .5 micron filter with silver to sink and fridge ice maker but we want clean water for showering, clothes, dishes etc too.
In Southeast Ga or La. there is so much iron and sulfur and other compounds plus sediment or dirt that it clogged our ceramic filters beyond cleaning even with a prefilter.
In Michigan we had a family camped next to us for the weekend fun on the water.
I noticed they didn't have a water filter of any kind. Showed him the housing of our prefilter full of sediment etc. he said it didn't matter they only ued the water to shower and do clothes. You could tell it too.
