water pump does not pump
i just replaced a new pump and still no water. here is a picture of the setup. I can't figure out what the clear hose and valve is for. Any help would be great. It's got to be something simple.

I opened the anti freeze line, turned on the pump and started shucking on the clear hose and presto it primed up and started working. Hope it keeps working, if not I know what to,do.
