Water Pump

Ran my fresh tank empty today using the pump, since then I only get 1gpm instead of the rated 3gpm. Did I damage the pump or is it air bound or some such. If the latter, how do I prime it?

This is the unit in question.

Check valves at both ends. That's how they can pull water from the inlet and push it out the outlet. When one port is moving water, the opposite port is closed.

  • the only check valve I know of is at the city water inlet, I'm running off the fresh tank. Is there another?

Just got a call from the trailers manufacturer, asked me to take apart the pump (after asking if I was comfortable doing so) and see if there is any dirt particles in the diaphragms. Pretty good response as I dropped the email to them less then 2 hours ago. Will try that tomorrow.
  • Pump description specifically says "self-priming" & "designed to run dry."

You may have air in some lines... open all the faucets, hot/cold, inside & out, and run the pump.

Also possible the check valve is malfunctioning---maybe it wasn't even run dry to start with. Could have been backflow.
