Weird?

I think your batteries needed charging as well.. Indicators and such on RV type fridge are 12 volt devices,, Everything "RV" style in an RV needs 12 volts for something even the toilet and it does not even have electrical connections (12 volts for the water pump which is elsewhere in the system).

This includes the Fridge, Furnace, Water heater, and many Air conditioners. lights, fans, I already mentioned the plumbing, all use 12 volts for control and detection.
TV, Microwave and such.. These are common household devices and run on (normally) 120 volts only though the FRONT TV in many motor homes has a 12 volt (Chassis system) interlock and you can get 12 volt direct power TV's as well (At home you use a brick, Mine is actually a 14 volt TV, In need to get a direct wire plug for it).

Check your battery connections, they could be marginal. Once amps start flowing, it can appear normal, but waste voltage and make heat.

Look for any signs of arcing, such as pitting, charring marks, etc.

Quick and simple check, but pretty important to rule out.

Agreed. If the battery was low it could take time for the converter to get it up to a decent voltage.

Again, check voltage at the back of the refrigerator. Should be 12+ VDC.

Correct....refer, not AC. Everyhting is operating fine, fridge is cooling down normally. It was just a weird startup. Maybe I caught the converter "waking up" before it was ready? Do they go through some diagnostics before coming up to speed when power is first restored?

Many household circuits do not have enough amps to start an A/C unit.

Battery main disconnect was switched off
