WEN Gen on sale

The EU2000 Honda has a 98.5 CC engine vs the 79 CC of most of these other models including the Yamaha EF2000. To me that sounds like a big enough difference to make a substantial difference in performance. Anyone found any accurate side by side load tests of these generators?

Ok, what ever you want to believe,...I just have never seen metallic oil come from any engine that didn't have a serious problem.

I have been an engine tech for many years, and silvery oil has always been bad news.

all new small engines i have ever dealt with have metal flakes when new, from everything wearing into place. it generally clears up by the 3rd oil change, i do change the oil quickly the first couple times.

it was still silvery after the 22 hour run.

i have seen silver in Honda,Brigs,Yamaha,Kolher, etc... everything new always wears in for a while.

Tom, learned long ago you can't change people's mind, if it wasn't for the OP i would not even have known of the unit. i don't hide faults if there is a issue, i call it like i see it

Thanks for your efforts taken on posting the video which shows the WEN operating frequency, the scope views, and the DB measurements. Also, your comments on the oil changes and operational items are valuable. The only thing I could suggest is to use that cutoff saw to modify the oil dipstick access, lol.:B

I don't make assumptions, stuff that sounds quiet one day sounds louder the next day and the db hasn't changed, its why i use meters. that said i don't own a honda or yamaha, i have heard them in different environments but again it doesn't help if its not in the same place as the WEN.

I recently had to use the WEN, it ran 22 hours straight, and used less then 2.5 gallons of fuel. 0 issues, i love it, other then the screw issue to check the oil (which it burned non of during the 22 hours run) i have no issue with the unit.

i also ordered a replacement air filter (i wasn't happy with the way it sat in the housing) and service was quick and responsive. you can also see my review of that with pictures on amazon.

Thank you for taking the time to make and post the video. I'm considering purchasing the Wen and wondered if you are still happy with your purchase decisiion. Your video showed a lot, but I've yet to find one that shows a Wen and a H side by side for DB comparison. Do you think it's as quiet or quieter than H ?
