Apparently, basic dumb chargers are not allowed to sold in CA anymore. I like smart chargers, but I have had batteries go so dead occasionally (head lights left on, on the car) the smart charger will not charge it. Instead it says the battery is bad. A dumb charger brought it up enough to get the smart charger take over......
