Probably just some "stuff" that temporarily got into the water system. If you contact whoever is in charge of water for that area, they'll probably do some testing (and most likely find everything fine) and possibly some line flushing.
A plumber I know simply will not drink any water directly from any faucet. As he said, he just sees too much "stuff" in plumbing systems. He uses a filter system he setup himself at home.
This what I just installed. Doesn't take away space from inside the cabinet because I re-routed the factory done plumbing. Starts with a 60 micron sediment filter, then 5 micron sediment filter, a 1.0 micron ceramic filter (Doulton Ultracarb) and then a UF ultrafiltration filter that filters out anything larger than 0.01 microns (viruses, bacteria, pesticides, herbicides, etc.).
No longer worried about drinking anything undesirable. The stuff that is in the CG water supply will clog up our filters faster. Then there is the question of others in the CG that don't use any filtration. I don't think whatever it is should be in the water to start with. A lot of people have gotten very sick from water distribution systems over the years in the US and Canada and some have even died, so it shouldn't be taken lightly IMO.
