The 12v radio,is it portable or wired into the system? Does the radio stay "On"? as in the face lit up all the time?
Also, check batteries with a hydrometer, accurate way to tell if you have a bad cell.
Does your friend use a water pump? how long does the heater run?
After charging from the generator, wait a half an hour,record voltage at the batts, then try not to use any 12v at all in the trailer, measure every hour and see if he is losing voltage, minor voltage loss is expected from fridge,CO detector and or smoke detector..
