He hooked up the battery direct to the panel without the charge controller. Started at 18V and went down to 16 (forgot the exact voltage or how long it took to get there). Battery is not hot, just bubbling. . Good point about adding distilled water. I know he has plenty of beer available, but not sure about the distilled water.
Is he hooking up only 1 battery at a time to the solar panel while doing this, I hope?
