I tried Desulfurizing my number #1 battery for 62 hrs and was able to stabilize all six cells and achieve a 1.200 SG and 12.70 volts. I didn't like these results, so I started charging the battery with a 100 watt solar panel. I didn't use the solar panel controller, but went direct from the solar panel, which was rated at 18.65 volts, to the battery. The voltage jumped very quickly from 12.70 to 15.94 and gradually decreased down to 15.80 and held that voltage for for four hours. Almost immediately at the start of the test, each cell started "bubbling".
Seven hours of 100 watt solar panel charging, the battery reached a 13.45 volt charge and only a slight change in SG to 1.225. I was hoping for a higher SG change, but will try and run another solar charge on Sunday. We'll see how the battery voltage is in the morning. I have been loosing almost 75% of my charge measured by voltage in a 24 hr period of time.
