"Close to" 16.0 volts means what? At 15.7 volts limit for example it can take six times as long to do a proper equalization than if enough current allowed the voltage to rise to 16.0 volts. Remember the 5% of total amp hours constant current rule. Below 15.6 volts batteries are difficult to equalize unless you utilize a calendar.
