When I said close to 16 volts, the voltage would vary from 15.9 to 16.08 or so. I had to turn the charger off and then back on every 15 to 20 minutes or so to keep the voltage in that range. As time went on thru several days on the charger, the max voltage dropped to 15.31. Not the most desirable situation for battery charging, but that's what I have for a charger.
My friend is now back in the desert, with 2 new batteries, one from Walmart, the other from COSTCO, a new PD9260 converter in his trailer, a Trimetric 2025 battery monitor, and a 100 watt solar panel. Initial reports are that everything is working just great, he is able to see on his battery monitor that there isn't anything in his trailer draining his batteries that is unexpected or unknown. He is able to do a 'good job' on the charging side by using his generator and the solar panel.
In short, he's one happy camper!!
