If I can get the wiring harness from Winnebago, well, I just wasted $4. I'll learn to live with it.
If I end up installing a resistor, I will solder it inline with some 14g wire, and heat shrink it to waterproof it. Then I will use 2 weatherproof butt connectors to connect it to the existing wire ends.

I put a new set of Kwikee steps on my motor home last year and I didn't have the set up yours has, how old is it?
