What kind of adhesive/sealant to use for my rain gutter?

I removed one of the rain gutters on my Dodge Xplorer 228 and dug out all of the old silicone, and some other putty that was still soft underneath the silicone (not sure what that was)... all of which...

I've done my Xplorer 230XL gutters using Geocel Proflex RV sealant;

I hope I've fixed them well. They are several older threads on here about this, but I'm having trouble finding them now.
