What roofing material do I have? (pic)

downtheroad, you caught me! I was just showing off a clean roof while I could. ;)

I did read through the manual again. The only reference to the roof is in the maintenance section, and it says to use sealer for "rubber roofs". That supports what SoundGuy said. But the manual also talks about several other items that don't apply to my trailer...so, there's that trust thing again.

It goes against my logic. My last roof was soft and rubbery feeling, like a pencil eraser. This one is more vinyl / PVC feeling. But what do I know...

Whatever material it is...I'd keep that picture. It will never look that good again....:B

Hate to burst your bubble but if your previous trailer had a textured roof surface then it wasn't rubber but rather TPO which is vinyl. If your current roof surface is smooth "like pool liner" then it no doubt is EPDM which is rubber. More RVs built these days have an EPDM roof covering ... personally, having owned both, I prefer TPO as it's more resistant to tearing, has a textured surface, and doesn't chalk or bubble as does EPDM.

If it is new then you should have a manual which should have info on the roof so you don't have to ask a dealer you don't trust. :@ My guess is that it is an EPDM (rubber) roof. Mine looked that clean once. :B

My guess is it's TPO.

To be honest, I've purchased two trailers from two different dealers. Neither time did I feel that the employees knew half as much as this forum, collaboratively. Oh, they'll give you an answer, but I don't believe it until confirmed by the experts here! :)

I'm assuming you bought this trailer from an RV dealer....so did you ask them what kind of roof?

Tell me about it. It's hard to look at in the sun. Good news is that with the non-textured surface, it should be easy enough to keep clean.

It feels very much like pool liner, but maybe twice the thickness.
