what option is there if the stabs have neither a bolt head or an allen / hex key hole? on the KZ my stabs have a piece of metal that's been hammered flat on the end, and it fits into a slot cut into the round tube of the jack handle

Post a photo of the business end of the crank.
this fits over the end of the jack screw, which has been hammered flat to form "ears" which fit in the slot
