I seem to remember reading about someone else who had their EMS warranty claim denied by Progressive Industries, too. Same symptoms. Hot to the touch. Melted case, Burnt wires. Progressive Industries blamed it on improper/faulty installation. Apparently, if the primary/secondary a/c wires get loose inside, under load they can arc, create heat, burn, and melt the case.
If this is true, may be a good idea for all PI EMS users to periodically re-tighten the wires inside their EMS.
