But that gave me the thought of going to archive.org, to find the warranty at that time (Feb 15, 2010). It wasn't lifetime, but "Progressive warrants its products are free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three years." Regardless of any exclusions, it was simply out of warranty.
There you go - the "more to the story" I was referring to earlier. ;) We all think of the purchase of a Progressive EMS as including a lifetime warranty, and it does now, BUT that doesn't necessarily mean it always did. Seems the OP's did not and that alone would easily explain why his claim was denied.
