Well the portable versions don't work "exactly" the same as a hard wired one. Delay for portable EMS units is fixed at 136", delay for the hard wire can be set to 136" OR 15" - a feature I use regularly. The portable unit, when buried somewhere within the RV, can't be seen, which in turn means one can't quickly glance at the display as one can at the hard wire's remote display. As far as this new warranty is concerned it's clear to me now that Progressive's new owner Power Products LLC intends for the company's previous "Lifetime Warranty" to become a limited lifetime warranty. Any signs of overheating and an owner is toast (literally) and will be denied warranty coverage on a product they thought carried a lifetime warranty. Not good.
