I shipped one of my two PT50's back for service on August 1, 2017. The LED quit working so I didn't know if it was working or not. I just put my backup unit in service and a week later a new unit arrived UNDER WARRANTY.
One thing I do prior to each and every plug in is to put a shot of dielectric grease in the receptacle of each contact. It doesn't cost much and my contacts all look new when removed and the grease make removal much easier also. I also grease the contacts in the PT50 also. One thing they are now not covering is burned or damaged contacts.
And no RMA was required. I called and they said to just ship it with proof of purchase and my return address.
