Pretty obvious that what got excessively hot was the contactor (relay) which is located directly below the most severely damaged area on your EMS. Obviously the question is WHY but unfortunately we'll probably never get an answer since Progressive doesn't seem to be interested themselves in trying to figure out what happened. Not impressed. :(
